$1 billion hydrogen power plant in works - Green Machines - MSNBC.com: This article details the new power plant being built in southern California. Set to be online in 2011, the plant would burn hydrogen and inject the carbon dioxide will be "trapped and injected into a natural reservoir thousands of feet underground, where it would stimulate additional oil production."

This is great news for times when oil is still available. Unless the tar sand of Canada can be economically used, the next couple of decades are going to be difficult ones for societies heavily dependent on fossil fuels for their lifestyles.
